The duo team at ClearGrafx Printing & Copy Center, Beth and Harold Jarvis, have surely surmounted plenty of obstacles since starting their own printing business in 2010. However, they have come out stronger and better than ever with loyal customers and a successful print shop that they have worked hard to achieve.
“We were tired of starting new shop owners in the business, while we knew we had the skills and the equipment to do it on our own.” With the digital age becoming the forefront of all needed information and technical design, ClearGrafx remains the leader in the stylish yet still necessary printing industry.
“Many graphic designers are self-taught or learn how to design for the web and they don’t understand resolution, bleed, and all sorts of design items that are necessary for the print industry, for brochures, letterhead, flyers, business cards, etc… We aren’t a dying industry, we are a still a necessity” says Harold.
What began using a darkroom for developing film, Beth and Harold transformed into a multi-method company, assisting non-profit organizations like Light of the World Clinic, local PTAs and Band Booster Clubs.
“Our printing press may be a bit old school but using a newer direct-to-plate system doesn’t use chemicals anymore and it saves time.” ClearGrafx has also been a go-to for local hotel guests and businesses participating in local trade shows, when putting together presentations and items for distribution, including presentation folders, infographics, and color copies.
ClearGrafx’s future goals include expanding their operations possibly to a local storefront and maybe the addition of a full-time in-house graphic designer or outside sales person and to be sure they continue to provide customers with valuable experience and personal service. Every month ClearGrafx offers as monthly special, highlighting their expertise with discounts off certain orders.
While also helping the community in their printing needs, Beth and Harold work with and participate in local community events, beach clean-ups, Girl Scouts, and Walk-A-Thons aiding animals in shelters and service/companion dogs.
They have been highlighted as prestigious Presidential Volunteer Community Service – Lifetime Service Award recipients, clocking in over 4,000 hours of community service and each receiving a signed letter and certificate from the President of the United States of America.
